Hamas objavio snimak kako proizvodi iranske snajperske puške AM-50 u podzemnim bunkerima u Gazi
Brigade Iz al-Din al-Qassam, vojno krilo Hamasa, objavile su 21. decembra 2023. video koji otkriva unutrašnju proizvodnju snajperskih pušaka kalibra 12,7 mm i pripadajuće municije. Ove operacije se navodno izvode u podzemnim objektima u Gazi. Prikazane puške izgledaju kao kopije iranskog modela AM-50 Saiiad, razvijenog od austrijskih pušaka Steir HS.50 koje je nabavio Iran.
U ovom videu, AM-50 Saiiad je predstavljena kao protivoklopna puška, ručno punjena bez upotrebe magacina i dizajnirana za municiju 12,7 × 99 mm. Sajad težak oko 12 kg i dužine 1,5 metara, može da pogodi mete na maksimalnoj udaljenosti od 1500 metara. Iako se ova puška koristi u nekoliko sukoba na Bliskom istoku, posebno u Jemenu i Gazi, izveštaj Conflict Armament Research-a naglašava nedostatke u proizvodnji i završnoj obradi, što ukazuje na varijacije u iranskim proizvodnim pogonima.
Nije poznato da li su ovi isti problemi prisutni u verzijama koje proizvodi Hamas.

Sandej tajms je objavio da je nakon izraelskog povlačenja iz pojasa Gaze 2005. godine, Hamas poslao stotine svojih pripadnika u Iran na vojnu obuku koju je vodila Revolucionarna garda. Ova obuka je uključivala kurseve o gerilskoj taktici i tehnologiji naoružanja. Najuspešniji članovi ostali su na usavršavanju i kasnije se vratili kao instruktori.
Od 2007. Hamas je počeo da strukturira svoje vojne i bezbednosne snage po modelu Hezbolaha, uspostavljajući jasnu hijerarhiju, podelom zadataka, uspostavljanjem sistema obuke, formiranjem grupa za šverc oružja, pripremanjem eksplozivnih naprava i planiranjem terorističkih napada na ranjive tačke izraelskih odbrambenih snaga (IDF).
