Vreme – Ukoliko planirate da promenite program ishrane teladi, unapred napravite plan i odredite datum kada ćete to uraditi. Ukoliko to uradite u jesen, držite se tog programa sve do proleća. Najgore što jedno tele može da doživi jeste promena pravila.
Voda – Postarajte se da mladunci dobiju svežu toplu vodu odmah nakon mleka. Mladunci će znati da cene i nagrade vaš trud time što će jesti više zrnaste hrane i nastaviti da dobijaju na telesnoj masi tokom zime.
Starter smeša – Čak i tokom hladnih meseci, veoma je važno da vodite računa o starter smešama. Pobrinite se da vaša telad pojede što je više moguće nekog kvalitetnog koncentrata, zrnevlja kukurza i nekih drugih žitarica. One podstiču razvijanje buraga i njegove mikroflore.
Okruženje – Suva i čista prostorija bez promaje, kao i čista slama i neka odeća za mladunce idealne su tokom zimskih meseci. Na taj način tele će svu toplotu i energiju zadržavati za sebe, jačati imunološki sistem i brže se razvijati.
Pripremanje mleka – Imajte u vidu da će se mleko koje se priprema tokom ekstremno niskih temperatura brzo ohladiti napolju. Najbolje je da zagrejete mleko na temperaturi od 35 do 40 stepeni celzijusovih. Tako zagrejano mleko pomešajte sa hladnim koje je stajalo napolju.
