KOPAČI ZLATA PO DEŽEVI TRAŽE BLAGO NEMANJIĆA
Iako legenda o bogatstvu skrivenom ispod zemlje postoji vekovima i nikad nije potvrđena, i dan-danas vrlo često osvanu rupe između Petrove crkve i manastira Đurđevi stupovi
Kopači zlata, oni koji to rade tajno, noću, opremljeni najsavremenijim senzorima i drugom opremom, godinama pretražuju Deževsku dolinu u Novom Pazaru, kraj gde je Stefan Nemanja stvarao prvu srpsku državu. Baš tu, u Starom Rasu, vrlo često osvanu rupe na lokalitetima koji se nalaze blizu crkava, manastira i grobalja. Ta mesta su najzanimljivija tragačima za zlatom.
Dugo se, tajno i noću, kopalo baš između dve pravoslavne svetinje, ranosrednjovekovne Petrove crkve i manastira Đurđevi stupovi koji je podignut u 12. veku. Za Petrovu crkvu postoje podaci da je još starija nego što se to misli, tako da je upravo deo oko nje najzanimljiviji „sonarima kopačima“.
Legenda, koja se vekovima prenosi u Novom Pazaru, a koja nikada nije potvrđena, kaže da je postojao tunel koji je povezivao manastir koji se nalazi na brdu sa crkvom koja je u podnožju i da upravo taj tajni hodnik krije Nemanjino blago. Navodno, u ovaj tunel ušao je karavan mazgi koje su bile natovarene sanducima sa dukatima i dijamantima, ali one nikada nisu izašle kod Đurđevih stupova koji su od Petrove crkve udaljeni oko dva kilometra.
Za tim kovčezima traga se vekovima unazad. Najpre su ilegalni kopači koristili primitivne alatke, a sada poseduju sonde kojima snimaju i po nekoliko metara u dubinu zemlje.
Priče o Nemanjinom blagu prenele su se i van granica naše zemlje pa postoje svedoci koji tvrde da su za dukatima i dijamantima tragali i vojnici koje je u Novi Pazar s tim zadatkom poslao lično Adolf Hitler. Oni su prekopali celu unutrašnjost Petrove crkve, zatim su orali njive, svaki kamen podigli… Prekopavanje je trajalo danima, meštanima je bilo zabranjeno da priđu.
Nemački oficir je, prema pričama, našao jedan kovčeg. Zatim ga je odneo na nepoznatu lokaciju. Nepoznato je i šta je bilo u njemu.
Kasnije, za blagom Stefana Nemanje tragali su i komunisti. Oni su, navodno, pronašli dva sanduka koja su bila zakopana na dubini od dva metra pored nosećeg zida Petrove crkve.
Ipak, stručnjaci ne mogu da potvrde ove priče koje se godinama unazad pričaju u Novom Pazaru. Zvanično, od Đurđevih stupova pa do podnožja jeste postojala nekakva veza, da li se radi o keramičkom mlekovodu ili vodovodu, ili o nečemu drugom, utvrdiće ljudi od struke.
Zvanična arheološka iskopavanja oko Petrove crkve dala su ogromne rezultate značajne za nauku. Pronađeni su veoma vredni predmeti. Pored zlatnog sarkofaga jednog ilirskog kneza, pronađeno je srebrno posuđe, ali i nakit velike vrednosti.
Tokom istraživanja pronađen je i jedan objekat sa jasno utvrđenim gabaritima. Pronađeno je i dvadesetak grobova. Zemlja pored ove najstarije crkve u Srbiji krila je i novčiće, keramiku, ukrase…
Crkva napravljena na temeljima rimskog hrama
Crkva Svetih apostola Petra i Pavla, u narodu poznatija kao Petrova crkva, prema pisanim izvorima, potiče iz osmog veka, ali se pretpostavlja da je dosta starija i da datira iz perioda Rimske imperije.
Ovaj hram podignut je na mestu monumentalne kneževske humke i baš tu su arheolozi otkrili zlatan nakit i druge ukrase koji datiraju iz vremena 6. veka pre nove ere.
Prvi pisani pomen datira iz 1020. godine u povelji vizantijskog cara Vasilija II. Do Stefana Nemanje nema direktnih pomena Petrove crkve u istorijskim izvorima.
Zna se da je u njoj Stefan Nemanja kršten po obredima pravoslavne crkve i da je taj čin obavio raški episkop Leontije.
U Petrovoj crkvi Stefan Nemanja odrekao se vlasti u korist sina Stefana Prvovenčanog i sa suprugom Anom se istog dana i zamonašio.
